It’s important to keep healthy, delicious and inspiring snacks by your side as you transition to a healthier, happier way of living.
If you don’t, you might find it too challenging to resist the office food or the *cupcake* shop down the street.
Our favorite trick is to keep these (or similar nuts or fruit) with us at all times. When hunger or cravings strike, grab a handful of these and remind yourself “I can eat that other stuff at anytime if I CHOOSE to. Today, I CHOOSE to support my health and eat these nuts instead.”
Making it a CHOICE instead of a “HAVE TO” brings us back to ourselves and why we are doing what we do.
BEST INGREDIENTS EVER:
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 cup pecans
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup date paste*
- + 2 tbsp date paste*
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- coconut oil for greasing pan
HOW TO MAKE YOUR MASTERPIECE:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Stir together date paste through nutmeg.
Combine almonds, pecans, and sesame seeds in a medium bowl, toss with date paste mixture, and coat nuts well.
Lightly grease rimmed baking sheet or pan with coconut oil and then spread the syrupy nut mixture on the pan.
Bake for 15 minutes, then stir, and bake for another 10-15 minutes.
Let cool completely and then use spatula or fork to separate nuts and transfer to a bowl or tupperware.
Enjoy immediately, or even better, over the next couple of days!
**To make date paste: Add 6-7 pitted dates to blender with 1 cup of water (you want it to be very liquid). Blend until completely smooth.
